A life behind bars

The brief was refreshingly honest: "I want something more comfortable but looks good" — and "I love the look of a chopper-style handlebar, preferably in chrome." So that's exactly where we started.

We sourced a set of quality chrome chopper bars, then did the real work to make them live properly. Longer throttle cables were Frankenstein-ed in from a Yamaha Aerox, paired with new extended brake hoses and lengthened runs for the ignition and signal switches so nothing pulls tight at full lock. The OBU was relocated to the right with a custom bracket for a cleaner bar setup.

"Who said a life behind bars has to be a boring one?"

To finish the cockpit we fitted clip-on mirrors and a set of plush diamond-patterned rubber grips to knock back the vibration on longer rides — comfort where the rider actually feels it. The result is a bike that looks the part at the lights and stays easy to live with on the way home.
